Natasha Khan - Making an Impact in the World of Music

In a remarkably short time, Natasha Khan – singer-songwriter and Pakistan’s first qualified sound engineer – has made a major name for herself and done so in a variety of ways. In fact, it is safe to state that Natasha may be well on her way to becoming a music sensation in tremendous fashion.

Pakistan has a rich history of female musicians and singers who have had their impact on the industry, and Natasha looks to continue this tradition by inspiring the current generations. Born in Islamabad and based in London, Natasha took the entire world by storm with Dil Kamla – her debut performance in Coke Studio 9 along with the seasonal Faakhir Mehmood.

However, this did not stop here – her appearance in the next season i.e. Coke Studio Season 10 proved to be even bigger where she showcased her ability as a backing vocalist and performed Yo Soch – the Disney Song - with none other than the Prince of Pop Ali Zafar. In no time, the audience fell in love with her beautiful soothing voice and charming personality. Besides her performances in Coke Studio, what makes her special are her covers of popular Pakistani Pop Songs. Here her cover of Mera Pyar originally sung by the late great Amir Zaki needs a special mention - she pulled it off with sheer grace maintaining the pure essence and feel of the song.

Like so many great musicians, Natasha developed interest in music at an early age. She started writing and composing songs when she was just 12 with her mother as an audience. However, it may come as a surprise that she has also worked as a News Anchor in Express News – even the word multi-talented is not enough to describe this highly inspirational personality.

There’s this unique aura in her voice that whenever she starts singing, a flood of emotions come pouring out and strike all the right chords in the hearts of the listeners. A very few artists have this quality and without a doubt, she’s one of them. After giving two hit songs in back to back seasons of Coke Studio, fans were eagerly waiting to see what she has in store for them. However, they will have to wait for it!

Recently, Coke Studio revealed its lineup for Season 11 but sadly, Natasha is not a part of the show this year. Fans have expressed their disappointment on the social media but the artist believes that it is not the only medium to release music. Currently, she’s working on her originals which will be out soon and we cannot wait to listen to the magic she creates with her mesmerizing vocals.

Natasha is a true role model to all the youngsters, especially girls looking to make a name in the music industry. Her success speaks volumes of the hard work she has put in to get to where she is today. Nothing is impossible in life if you stay committed and true to yourself. We wish her all the very best in her future endeavors and look forward to more of her work.

For our readers, we have a surprise coming up very soon – we’ll be publishing a complete in-depth interview with none other than our very own Natasha Khan.

So, stay tuned and until that time, treat your ears with this great melody.

    1. There are two with the same name ... I got confused as well because they both are singer / songwriters and have Pakistan. But their birthdays are different. I think you are referring to Natasha Khan known as Bat For Lashes, she was born in London England and is half Pakistan . Aloha
