Mur Ke Dekho - Farhad Humayun to Make His Debut as a Solo Artist

Fasten your seat belts ladies & gentlemen, the founder of the loudest band in Pakistan, Overload, Farhad Humayun is all set to release his first single as a solo artist. The song titled Mur Ke Dekho is a vocal depiction of stories, thoughts, and emotions Farhad has collected so far in his life.

In his own words, Farhad describes Mur Ke Dekho as "Mur Ke Dekho is a song with a beat that’s dance-able and a melody that’s sing-able and catchy. In a sense it is about looking forward to life, embracing all the dark adventures it holds, dealing with them with a smile and dropping all the baggage we collect. The future always holds promise".

Inspired by the 80s, the video has a colourful theme. Ramina Maripova stars as the singer’s lost love, and an older, grey bearded Farhad Humayun playing her past incarnate. The concept of the video is quite unique and Farhad himself is directing it. He believes that his association with the songs that he sings enables him to accentuate the story through visuals more accurately than a director, who is a stranger to the song would.

Farhad, previously, has released numerous songs, each being a success story in its own, for his band Overload and other artists as well. He was also a part of Coke Studio Season 5, where he energized each song with his sizzling drumming and performed a number of songs as well. In May 2016, he released his first English solo single titled ‘Give In’, which received global appreciation from Hollywood veterans and club DJs alike.

Farhad is joined by a strong group of work force including Uzma Rao of Native Rock PR, who has styled the characters and their closets and flashy visuals done by UCLA activity graduate Numair Abbas.

This is not it, Farhad has also announced an album "Mera Naam" that he is working on along with the sensational Sarmad Ghafoor for last 8 months. The album has 10 songs, each with a different theme. Fans are going to love that for sure.

“This is going to be my most definitive work as an artist and songwriter. I’m playing all instruments
myself except piano and ethnic instruments. I felt I was so close to these compositions that I wanted to transfer my truest emotions on tape by playing guitar, drums, bass and some keys myself, apart from singing and writing. Sarmad and I have worked closely on lyrics melodies and arrangements. He’s truly awesome.”

Mur Ke Dekho is set to hit the screens on August 2, 2017, and it is really something to watch out for. We have seen Farhad creating magic with Overload, let's see what he has in store for us as a solo artist. Fingers crossed!
