The independent music scene has been abuzz recently with a lot of musicians and artists plunging onto the scene to make a difference with their music but it is highly rare to come across artists who perform at the mainstream level in different capacities but their thirst to learn more about the art keeps growing with time. One such musician is Sarah Waqar from Karachi.
Sarah Waqar is a budding guitar player and a student of Musicology at the National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA). In her short career, she has played at multiple national events including Faiz Festival, President House of Pakistan, NAPA International Festival, and more with established artists. Not many people know but she also appeared in Parey Hut Love as one of the musicians playing at Haye Dil Bechara.
However, she believes that she is still in her learning phase and her teachers believe in her ability and they let her play too.
When asked about her future plans, she says "Music is all I want to do for the rest of my life. I am always ready to learn about it whenever I get a chance. It is one of my aims to learn and inspire."
Sarah excels at playing guitar in different techniques and genres including classical, jazz and more. Her finger-style playing is what sets her apart from other female guitar players in the country. She is also learning drums and wants to make a name for herself in the industry as a multi-instrumentalist.
It is indeed a pleasure to come across such inspiring musicians who put their craft before anything else and strive to learn and progress. Our best wishes to Sarah Waqar in all her future endeavors.
