Jason Anthony - One of Pakistan's All Time Great Drummers

Drumming is a mysterious art. Drummers usually take the back space in every performance, yet they carry the beat. Skill and talent are just some of the few concepts that dictate greatness and Pakistan has been blessed to have so many of them.

When we talk about the best drummers in Pakistan, we come across names like Louis J. Pinto a.k.a. Gumby, Farhad Humayun, Aahad Nayani, Alf Dmello, and Kami Paul just to name a few. In all these names, we often forget one name who is no less than anyone in terms of talent but remains underrated despite having such a strong profile of playing with almost all the iconic musicians of the country.

Jason Anthony - the backbone of the iconic band Aaroh - has been around for over 2 decades now and has played and toured with a lot of prominent names in the likes of Hadiqa Kiani, Aaroh, Mizmaar, Fuzon, and more. He currently plays with the young talented singer Ali Tariq and makes sure he is well-complemented with the right rhythm and beats.

Jason Anthony is a Pakistani drummer and an iconic musician from Aaroh.

Aaroh's claim to fame has been Pepsi Battle of the Bands, their debut album Raag Neela, and the incredible live performances. However, ,what we tend to ignore are the tense yet swinging beats of Jason Anthony. He possesses an inimitable style of drumming with adolescent levity that gave the band its spark and the same couldn't really be replaced even after years. Technically savvy and surprisingly funky, Jason is not like those musicians who only work with high-profile people only - he works with all; and his work ethic and modesty is commendable and reflects in all of his work.

People like him are a perfect role model for youngsters looking to make a name for themselves. The thing that shines above talent is how well you carry yourself and how eager you are to learn and improve. This is a tribute to one of the best talents we have in our country - our very own Jason Anthony - the Monster Drummer.
