Nescafe Basement Brings Aadat's Nostalgic Magic Back Leaving the Fans in Tears of Joy

Nescafe Basement Season 5 is on a mission - to introduce the young generation to all the amazing and iconic songs of the past. From Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's Piya Re to Haroon's Mehbooba, we have been at loss for words praising this latest season of this wonderful music show. Talking about iconic songs, what can be bigger and better than Aadat? Aadat - a song that defined a new era of music in the country and actually made people take interest in music. The trademark guitar solo compelled the boys to pick up guitar instead of cricket bats and made the girls fell in love with the duo of Atif Aslam and Goher Mumtaz i.e. Jal The Band.

The Nescafe's take on Aadat is actually an instrumental that takes you to a nostalgic ride back into 2003.
Multiple instruments fusing with each other creating magic more like giving a new life to the song without altering its essence is a joy to watch and treat to the ears. Veeru Shan on percussions, Waleed Attique on bass, Hasan Zafar on electric guitar, Sharoon Leo on violin, and the rest of the band spearheaded by Xulfi with a special appearance from the man behind Aadat, Goher Mumtaz completely blew the roof away.

This version of Aadat, right after its release has been trending on all the social media platforms and trending on YouTube for all the right reasons. There was a moment in the song where Atif's signature Alaap was missed even knowing that it was an instrumental. However, the void was well filled by Goher's vocals and those few lines of Bhanwaray literally left us spellbound.

Fans have been asking for a Jal re-union, mirroring our thoughts. Only God knows if that can happen someday or not, but for now, let's take a moment to appreciate this beautifully arranged rendition and instrumental cover.

  1. Brilliant, simply brilliant. The horns were quite amazing and took the song to somewhere else. Loved it
